A bit more about us
We started in Loughborough in 2021 with a simple idea: create the kind of coffee shop we’d want to spend time in ourselves.
Somewhere for slow mornings, quick coffees, laptop afternoons, catch ups that turn into dinner plans, and “should we just stay for one more?” moments.
Since then, we’ve opened spaces across the Midlands in Mountsorrel, Nottingham and Leicester. Every Public looks a little different, shaped by the building and the neighbourhood around it, but they’re all built around the same things: good coffee, thoughtful food, filled croissants, and spaces that feel warm, calm and lived in.
Along the way we’ve hosted pop ups, worked with brands and creatives we genuinely love, kept the menu moving with seasonal specials, and built a community around the everyday rituals people come back for.
We’re not trying to reinvent the coffee shop. We just care a lot about doing it properly.

Our bread is baked fresh every morning, alongside croissants, pastries and sweet treats that fill the bakery counter throughout the day.
